Interview with Kevin James and Henry Winkler About “Here Comes The Boom”

When I first heard the title of the movie, “Here Comes The Boom”, I thought the storyline would be about a bunch of “boomers” facing midlife. I was more than happy to see that this movie had a completely different message. I laughed, cried, and held on to my seat! Yes, this movie has it all, and I mean it! The Moms hosted a screening and interview with Kevin James and Henry Winkler. Let’s just say, they are really REAL! Opening today in movie theaters everywhere. First, a picture of me with Henry Winkler!

Here is what PrimeTimeParenting contributor Lauren Finkelstein, save1person.org, put in her review of this “must see” movie!

What a powerful message in the movie….. I love it when movies teach and inspire you to be a better you and make a difference in the world. I laughed, I cried, and I was inspired to take on the world after watching this film.

Basically, a high school teacher who’s a slacker, (Kevin James) is inspired to save the job, after budgetary cuts, of a music teacher, (Henry Winkler) who’s wife is about to have a baby. The magic of this music teacher is he inspires with passion, and his own love for music, touches every aspect of his student’s souls. What you see through the course of the movie,  the one who is really saved is the biology teacher who regains his passion for life when he tries to save the job of the music teacher, through mixed martial arts competitions (this is hysterical). You witness through the course of the movie, how one person’s passion, ignites another person’s passion, which ignites another person’s passion.  Passion is contagious, transformative and affects everyone  for the better.  This is the message of the movie, which I felt honored to be part of the screening and to have the unique opportunity to see front stage and center, my childhood crush ”The Fonz.”

My passion is saving lives through the media, and my hope is that one day we will all unite to save lives through the media one person at a time. Similar to the message of this movie, that one person’s passion can ignite others to save lives, and surprise, miracles happen and new worlds and old worlds are created and saved.

Thanks Prime Time Parenting for showing me the power of mommies and when we all unite with a similar passion, we make a difference, to our children, to our communities and to the world at large. And perhaps, maybe equally as important, everyone can have a really fun time in the process.

The Fashionable Moms Show: Fashion and Philanthropy Hit The Runways At New York’s Fashion Week

Who knew being a mom with a mission, could be so much fun in New York City. The Moms, Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein, invited this mommy and founder of Save1Person.org, and blogger for PrimeTimeParenting, to Strut: The Fashionable Moms Show to take in the energy, spirit and beauty of motherhood in the hippest way possible during fashion week. These moms hitting the runaway during fashion week at Lincoln Center in New York City, put the sizzle back in mommy by showing glitzy, to casual to sensible to stunning clothing, all while being a mom.

What truly bedazzled the audience during the fashion show was the inner beauty of each of these moms, who take on giving back as part of their own personal mission in this world. Some of the hot mommas included CEO’s like Stephanie Winston Wolkoff of SWW Creative and Holly Pavlika of Momentum to celebrities such as talk show host Wendy Williams and actress Lisa Rinna.

What these fashionable mommas all have in common is that they all give back through their philanthropy, dedication and commitment to their families, communities and world at large.

The Moms, hands down, who exemplified the brightest light, while strutting down the runaway, was Bernadette Catrabone, who’s a bone marrow transplant patient, and cancer survivor. Bernadette’s style and flair shines from within, through her strength, courage and doing it all despite adverse and overwhelming challenges. What is beauty and fashionable? These moms reminded us why mothers rule.

So what do with do with all this glamour? We of course join in as a community of inner and outer beauty to save a life, and strut our stuff that matters most – our ability to save and transform lives. There’s one baby who needs a transformation in her life to stay alive and we’re calling out to the world to help. Will you take your unique personal style and join in to save a life of a baby who needs a bone marrow match? Gabrielle Mongillo from New York was born with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, since she was adopted, and is from Yemen, no one in her immediate family is a bone marrow match. Will you get tested and join the bone marrow registry to see if you’re this little angel’s miracle. Go to http://www.dkmsamericas.org/ and order your kit today. See what makes you shine on the runaway of life…. To learn more about saving lives via the media go to http://www.save1person.org.

Madagascar 3 Screening With The Moms and Jada Pinkett Smith

Prime Time Parenting sent this mommy to an afternnon of a lot of fun and laughter. This was had and more at the screening of Madagascar 3: Europes Most Wanted. Sure, this is a kid movie, but it is really good for all ages. This movie will take you on a journey as four lost zoo animals from NYC, stuck in Africa who venture off to Europe trying to find their way home, only to learn their real home is with their fellow circus animals who help them along the way.

“Moms and the City”, really know how to bring back hip to mommy hood by presenting these trendy events to mom bloggers and press.

The “Moms” bought in the one of the stars of the movie, Jada Pinkett Smith, the wife of Will Smith (Men in Black) to talk about the movie and her experience of motherhood. Right from the beginning of the questioning, a blogger in the audience asked Jada about her family’s past and addiction, (Jada’s mother is a former addict). Jada, like a champ, approached the subject with brutal honesty.

Jada told the bloggers & press, that from the time her children were six, she told her kids about addiction and her mother’s trial and tribulations combating this disease. Jada said that when she told her kids the truth about her mother’s addictive past, starting at a young age, it built confidence and trust in their own relationship. Jada believes this brutal honesty builds a foundation of trust for a lifetime with your kids. And I think Jada is wiser beyond her years.

From laughing to crying to having aha moments, the Moms Rock for presenting events that make us laugh and make us cry.

A Night Out with The Moms and Review of Magic/Bird

contributed by Lauren Finkelstein, save1person.org

Who knew Moms could be so popular. At times, it seems as though our lives are just one food spill after another, laundry loads, and sleepless nights. It is nice to know that Denise Albert and Melissa Gerstein of The Moms can put the glam back in to mom. Who knew?

This time, The Moms hosted a Broadway event, teaming with Max Cure Foundation for Pediatric Cancer and Kids Foot Locker for a night of awareness, fun and dunking your sneakers for support and helping to find a cure for this horrible disease.

The Moms make it so you can be entertained, mix and mingle with the cast of the show and just really feel like Mommy hood is cool while giving back to the world at large.

Magic/Bird, was about Magic Johnson and Larry Bird and their unexpected friendship that developed over the many years. The play was poignant, funny and entertaining. I would recommend to anyone who enjoys basketball or does not, to take the family out for a night of pure enjoyment, fun and to be taken through the hoops. Get ready for the tip off, if you want to bedazzled by actors showing you the relationship between basketball legends and their journey in the world of sports.
