About Smoochie Baby
A Canadian Icon Comes to Williamsburg
Penelope Giaouris, a former New York City actress moved back to
her native shortly after to her son, Max,
and opened the super stylish Smoochie Baby. Giaouris began cultivating
her refined eye for hip, cutting edge baby wear while pregnant and
living on the Lower East side. At the time, Toronto baby stores were
lacking that edge so she brought it. The adorable store quickly
became a favorite of fashionable Toronto moms & dads.
Last summer the family of three moved back to New York City. This
time, just across the river to Williamsburg. Missing the daily
interaction with her store led Giaouris to the decision to move
it here to Brooklyn. “It has been a crazy turn of events that brought
Smoochie Baby here” says the young mom “but it couldn’t be more perfect.
” The store which carries an eclectic assortment of clothing, furniture,
toys, books and accessories for children aged 0-6, will be opening its’
doors here in next month. Lucky for us!
