While I was sitting here fighting off a writers block my husband watered our plants. In fact, he is the only member of our family that does this. He is the main manager of all of the plants and flowers in and around our home. I am proud to say that he is very, very excited about 2012 International Flower Show next week. Is this odd?
When we first got married, he always brought me a beautiful bouquet home on Friday. In order to cut back on some of our expenses, he decided to plant our own flowers. Not only did that help save us money, it also brought beautiful arrangements that are with us at all times. It is no wonder he can’t wait for the The International Flower Show has something for the entire family.
There are so many events for everyone. Since we will be going to the show with the kids in tow, we are really excited about the The Einstein Healthcare Network Family Lounge powered by Sprout. Here are some of the activities scheduled:
Children can create crafty projects, play with new toys, put on a puppet show, or watch their favorite movies. Sprout’s Super Why and Wonder Red will make a special appearance each day.

While there are so many fantastic activities for kids, my husband is really looking forward to acquiring more horticultural skills while at the show. He has already made a note to see Paul Simon, “Family Gardening” National Gardening Association, Demo Room, Sunday, March 11, 12:30 PM. Here is a complete list of gardening events at the 2012 International Flower Show.
Revenues from the Flower Show benefit the year-round work of the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and this year will support City Harvest as well.
