This past year, we have attended some incredible Disney events both in New York and at Walt Disney World. It is no surprise that my girls have fallen in love with the Disney Princesses: Belle, Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, and Tiana. Our house is overflowing with Disney princess paraphernalia such as costumes, books, shoes, pajamas, cups, and socks. My son has his share of favorite Disney characters as well. In fact, it was the reward of a talking Buzz Lightyear (and Woody) that aided in my son’s rapid potty training process. He also has his favorite princess too; Belle. This past year, I covered the grand opening of the New Fantasyland for Project You Magazine. One of the new additions is Belle’s Village, and within that, Enchanted Tales with Belle. Not only did my son meet Belle, he was invited to play the role of the Beast in the story. Not a day goes by without him mentioning how much fun he had at Walt Disney World. While there are no plans for us to visit Walt Disney World in the near future, we do have an opportunity to bring the Disney magic into our home.
I was recently selected by MomTrends to participate in a Disney Paint by Glidden product review. You can follow along with me and the others by searching for the #DisneyPaintMom hashtag. This is the perfect product for us; we have been meaning to give the kids’ room a “paintover” for months. Now, we have the opportunity to make that dream come true with Disney Paint.
Now, I know that Disney makes almost everything, however, Disney Paint was one that I was not aware of. Disney Paint is a new line of paints available only at Walmart that captures the magic and inspiration of Disney with 112 exclusive colors and five innovative specialty finishes that are easy to use and apply (and affordable too). These specialty finishes include: All That Glitters, Great Slate, Magnificent Metallic, Ready, Set, Glow! and Spek-Tacular.
We have been selected to review the Magnificent Metallic (Disney Princesses) theme. We wanted to select colors that would be nice for both my son and daughters’. We decided on the Royal Blue in Magnificent Metallic ($13.97 per quart) and Pretty as a Princess in the Disney Ultra Durable Paint ($27.97 per gallon) for the girls. We actually found a Disney cup while we were at Walmart that represented this color combination quite beautifully.
– Disney Paint is a premium-quality, ultra-durable paint that was formulated with your child in mind to withstand wear and tear, as well as repeated scrubs and washes. Scuffs, crayon and pencil marks, little finger prints, and tough stains, such as grape juice, wash off easily without removing the magical color.
– Disney Paint is low odor and has no VOCs.
– Disney Paint has a distinct collection of colors grouped into palettes designed to give your children options at every stage of style – from infant to tween. The diverse palettes make decorating with your child – no matter the age – easy and fun.
– Some colors are designed to complement not only each other but also Walmart’s Disney bedding and Disney room accessories, such as furniture, toys and décor options, sold in store or online. We will be receiving Walmart’s Disney bedding as a part of our painting experience!
My kids were beyond thrilled when I told them that we would be painting their room. Even before we went to Walmart to buy these paints, we previewed them on the Disney Paint website. I had so much fun playing around with different ways to color the room.
I was even able to check what stores had the paints before we left the house. Since these products are so new, some of the stores that were listed did not have them in stock. Fortunately, we did find a store that had them. I even called to confirm that they were there and made a plan to go to that Walmart store and pick-up my paints.
Not sure how to paint? Disney Paints “covers” that as well. Check out this video with step-by-step instructions.
The Walmart associate working in the paint department was just incredible. Here she is making sure the Royal Blue in Magnificent Metallic is just perfect.
Now that we have the paints, we will be embarking upon our painting journey with Disney Paint and sharing that in a future post right here on primetimeparenting.com.
